Becky will be dancing a piece called “Renewal”, choreographed by Laura Bernasconi. The piece, representing the changes you make as you go on to take new steps in your life.
As a professional dancer Becky toured the world in shows such as “Spirit of the Dance”, “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”. Retiring from dance at the age of 30 to have her daughter, Becky decided to retrain as a Pilates teacher under the tutelage of Lola San Miguel (who had trained with Josef Pilates himself). Becky eventually became one of only two second generation Pilates educators in the Netherlands.
With 10 years experience as a Pilates Rehabilitation Teacher, five of those running her own studio, in 2016 Becky went back to school to gain her physiotherapy qualifications. Becky’s practice has now evolved to include physiotherapist Bjorn. Over the years Becky had seen a recurring problem with mothers in her practice who suffered from diastasis recti (as separation of the stomach muscles during pregnancy). Together with Bjorn, Becky is deepening the research into how Pilates and physiotherapy can combine to help resolve the issues that 60% of women still suffer from after birth based on the very successful cases they have seen through their practice.
In their practice, Align to Connect, the mission is to help their patients, by looking at the body in a holistic way, involving every individual in the creation of their own treatment plan. This give the patient the independence and responsibility to take charge of their own recovery while being fully supported by an expert team.
