The Rise & Lead Summit is a platform for women in leadership and companies who are actively advancing women’s roles in their respective organizations. The main focus of the Rise & Lead Summit is to inspire, educate and empower women in business and the organisations who support them on key topics relating to diversity & Inclusion, wealth creation, building a sustainable future and the real stories about being a woman in leadership in the workplace and marketplace. Our goal is to share progressive ideas to facilitate change and closure of the gender gap.
Amsterdam has an incredibly rich literary history. Did you know that over 70 Amsterdam street names were named after Dutch writers and poets? Multiple factors provide the key to an understanding of the remarkable success the Dutch Republic had in the sphere of publishing, printing, and bookselling. In the 17th century, more books were printed in the Netherlands than in all other European countries put together. Why? Banned Books. We meet and have a short tour (entry fee included) of Amsterdam's most obscure library (Dan Brown's inspiration), then walk through the city, visiting the most interesting literary landmarks, see locations of books set in Amsterdam (i.e. The Goldfinch), and book markets.

You’ll work on your core message, craft your own wheel and get started on some of the content, learn how to write engaging, high-quality content and leave armed with an action plan to finish what you’ve started.

One of Spark's partners is The Gender Equality Conference 2017 (‘GEC 2017’) which will be conducted in two days from the 21st to the 22nd of November 2017. This event will focus on the gender equalization of the job market within the European Union.
GEC 2017 will be structured by the initial speech of a Keynote speaker of the day, giving a basic introduction to the theme of the day, based on the expertise and interest of the given speaker. This will be followed by at least two workshop activities per day. The ‘workshop activities’ involve smaller groups and are lead by a workshop leader. These smaller group settings hope to create a more intimate environment and thereby encourage greater audience participation. In addition, a moderator will be issued for each day, who is to give the opening remarks of the day along with our Chairwoman and ensure the functioning transition between the activities. GEC 2017 is organized independently under a supervision of European Student Think Tank.
Collaborating with European Student Think Tank
The European Student Think Tank (EST, established 2010) is an international NGO run by students for students, which provides a platform for students to form and share their opinions on all things European. Through our activities we aim to bring the European institutions and students closer together, by encouraging our members to organise events and develop partnerships with influential organisations. The EST is dedicated to progressive ideals and the future of Europe, as well as providing students with opportunities to develop professional skills around their own interests and passions.
Since 2016, we have been campaigning for gender equality in Europe under the name 'Empow(h)er'. The GEC 2017 is the flagship event of this campaign of the 2017-2018 academic year. It follows several successful events held last year by our talented members, including a number at prominent European institutions.

Executive Dinner with Robert Baker:
Engaging Men to Advance Balanced Leadership
We are pleased to announce our next Executive Dinner Event on October 11th in the prestigious and historic ’Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club’ in Amsterdam. It will be our honour to welcome members and non-members, women and men to this Women on the Move event.
Men have a critical role in leveling the playing field in gender balanced leadership for organisations, but are often an untapped resource in gender diversity initiatives. Men can be, and are, important partners in educating and moving organisations towards gender balance at the top and thus to more effective business performance. Hence, gender equality can really benefit everyone.
We would like to strongly encourage you to BRING A MAN to the event: a colleague, a friend, your soul-mate or your boss … every man can make a difference!
Our key note speaker Robert Baker is senior partner at Mercer and a champion for gender equality and balanced leadership. Through his fascinating talk he will give us new insights on how to see the workplace through different eyes and how we can build better performing, more sustainable organisations.
